Professor Agnieszka Ciżman’s article featured on the cover of Dalton Transactions magazine
We are pleased to announce that Professor Agnieszka Cizman’s article, “Amantadine-based coordination systems with Co(ii) and Zn(ii) chlorides,” has been featured on the cover of Dalton Transactions. The article appeared in Volume 55, Issue 34 of the journal, published on September 1, 2026.

A group of reserchers synthesized amantadine metal halides (C₁₀H₁₈N)₂MeCl₄ (Me = Co, Zn) that exhibited reversible order-disorder phase transitions at temperatures of 272 K (Co) and 260 K (Zn), associated with the reorganization of amantadine cations and the N–H⋯Cl bond network. These transitions are accompanied by distinct changes in dielectric properties and conductivity, and the nature of the relaxation depends on the metal center. The results show that the nature of the metal center influences hydrogen bond dynamics, dipole relaxation, and charge transfer, indicating that amantadine-based metal halides are promising candidates for switchable dielectric-proton-conducting hybrid materials.
