Advances in Nanoengineering seminar – October 20, 2026

We cordially invite you to Advances in Nanoengineering seminar, which will be held on October 20, 2026 at 13.15 in room 321, building A-1, where

Oliwia Janikowska

from Department of Experimental Physics, Wroclaw Tech

will deliver a lecture titled:

Engineering the Optical and Magnetic Properties of the Two-Dimensional Antiferromagnet CrSBr

The lecture abstract is attached below.

 ——————————————————————————————————————————
CrSBr is a layered van der Waals antiferromagnet exhibiting strong coupling between magnetic order and excitonic properties [1]. This presentation focuses on two approaches to engineering these properties: chlorine substitution and the fabrication of van der Waals heterostructures.
Magneto-optical investigations of CrSBr₁₋ₓClₓ reveal a systematic decrease in the magnetic saturation field with increasing chlorine concentration. High-field spectroscopy up to 85 T, supported by theoretical calculations, provides evidence of progressive exciton localization and a corresponding reduction in magneto-excitonic coupling [2].
The second part addresses CrSBr-based heterostructures with transition metal dichalcogenides and two-dimensional perovskites. Preliminary photoluminescence measurements reveal changes in emission intensity and linear polarization in CrSBr/2D perovskite heterostructures, motivating further investigation of possible interfacial effects.
Together, these findings demonstrate the potential of CrSBr as a versatile platform for exploring and controlling the interplay between excitonic states and magnetic order.
