High pressure gas spectroscopy in industrial conditions – keeping up with industrial requirements as a young researcher
by Bartosz Kamiński
from Airoptic Poznań & Wrocław Tech

Lecture abstract:

Young researchers entering the industrial world must face the transition from controlled laboratory settings to the complexities of industrial applications which presents a unique set of challenges. This seminar will explore gas spectroscopy with the application of wavelength modulation spectroscopy as a powerful tool for analysis under demanding industrial conditions, especially high pressures up to 40 barg. A significant obstacle encountered in high pressure measurements is the substantial pressure broadening of absorption lines resulting also in overlapping of neighboring signals, which complicates traditional quantitative analysis. This talk will focus on the strategies employed to address this issue, specifically the implementation of data analysis techniques and machine learning algorithms such as Partial Least Squares. By highlighting the practical considerations and the learning process involved in adapting sophisticated spectroscopic methods to meet industrial requirements, this seminar aims to provide valuable insights for those who want to tackle demanding industrial problems.
