Advanced Methods of Semiconductor Research Seminar – Tuesday 20th of May 2025
We cordially invite you to Advanced Methods of Semiconductor Research Seminar on Tuesday 20th of May 2025 at 13:15 in room 321, building A-1, where there will be delivered a lecture:
The Language of Light, the Logic of Industry: Raman Spectroscopy in Practice
by Karolina Orłowska & Maciej Jaworski
from Gekko Photonics, Wrocław
Lecture abstract:
Raman spectroscopy, rooted in nonlinear optical phenomena, is one of the most precise techniques for chemical analysis. Its ability to provide real-time measurements makes it highly suitable for in-line process monitoring.
While its potential is clear to scientists, manual interpretation of Raman spectra is time-consuming and impractical in industrial settings — especially for complex mixtures. We propose an automated data analysis approach focused on chemical bond energy, enabling differentiation of even analytes with identical atomic composition but different structures, such as isomers and monomers/polymers. In this presentation, we will show how we translate physical phenomena into electronic signals, and further into digital chemical information, concluding
with a demonstration of our Spectrally device.
